What causes chronic tension headaches?

Tension headaches are the most common type of headache the people suffer from. The discomfort usually shows up in the back of the head and top of the neck. This pain is most commonly a result from oral dysfunction. Yes, you read that right!

When there is oral dysfunction, other muscles are called in to help a dysfunctional muscle compensate. A great example of lifting something that is too heavy, you will fire other muscles to help compensate for the difficult movement.

We work with our clients to teach them strengthening exercises and repatterning movements through Myofunctional Therapy that will help to alleviate the pain and headaches in no time!
